Just built my first computer and I think the mother board is fried but the leds on it still turn on and I can plug my phone into the USB and charge it, I think I found what might have caused the problem but I'm not sure. Could use help. I think it's a legit manufacturing defect. MObo is asus prime z270-p
Those are the LEDs when the computer us off but plugged in
Here's the ram, and I don't have a picture but the gpu is also on and lighting up, I'm just unsure why it's able to do this if the motherboard is broken.
I also have a system speaker and it makes no noise when it turns on

read the sticky
install gentoo
leave nd never come back.

Good job, you found a screw hole. Do you have the little speaker that came with your case?
>>58674652
The system speaker, yes. It doesn't beep
>>58674652
Also I'm just pointing out the screw hole doesn't have the ring of metal like all the others. example:

Sounds busted. It could technically also be a bad psu, but my money is on the board. Rma that shit

That's what I thought, just needed some confirmation. Every part is brand new and the psu has been tested, I wouldn't be 100% shocked if it was my fault but I've put together and replaced motherboards many times and never broken one. I just think I got unlucky with the defective ground unit

Do you know why the leds would still work if the rest of the board doesn't?
>>58674596
That's a mounting screw hole.
Fire there can only mean one thing.
You failed to use standoffs.
>>58674672
Doesn't matter if it has a ring of metal. That's just a brace for the typical retard who overtorques and might crack the board and perhaps break a nearby trace that does matter.
>>58674767
Do you think if I put the standoffs back in it could work?

>>58674767
Nvm what I just said I did use standoffs they came screwed into the case
Remove the RAM and put it back in

Tried that, tried booting with 1 ram, all slots, no ram, both ram sticks
