Bought a makerbot for work, quite decent and even thou the prints might be a bit low res they worked almost as good as machined parts for trying out stuff.

If you wanna create small plastic parts, a 3d printer is fine, but you cant get injected moulded quality just yet. Also that carbon 3D thing, looks really neat, but the cost of filament might make it to expensive for home use as of now.
