Why is frontend or webdev in general considered to be easier than other fields? It's a giant clusterfuck of frameworks and technologies that constantly change and impossible to make sense of.
>>
>>58658087
where is this meme perpetuated? It's just a internet thing. People are always trying to put themselves above others
>>
frontend industry is trying to purposely put itself in a clusterfuck state so there will be a dependence on employing webdevs for their shitty 5 page small site. Think of it as a job security agenda. Also devs are easily swayed by a framework because it has a hip logo that will look neat on the face of their laptop so other devs can get rustled and jelly they're not using an obscure framework that other people probably don't know about.
>>
>>58658087
it's all in a normie web browsers sandboxed interpreter
>>
It typically requires less problem solving and domain knowledge than other fields, because the focus is always on user experience.

That being said, I think it requires more insight and creativity to do right than most other areas of software development.

Because it is like 1 step above making a blog. Download widgets. Copy/paste. Done.
>>
Will it really have job security in the future?

Just continue to build vanilla JS skill and be competent with the most dominant framework in each decade. i.e. we're past PHP/jquery. We're in the React/node.js timeline now. Angular has burned a lot of people, but it's being necroed by Google so it'll never really die. Employers/managers will probably buy into the Angular meme becaue "google". Just avoid the meme puppet framework in each generation and don't neglect vanilla js.

Partly probably because people who clusterfuck it are still doing their job without even being hired at MS or Adobe.

But you're right, it's now the same as programming anything else.

No, not really. But nobody has.

I like node.js.

I am not sold on react.js. Angular 2 looks nice. Have you seen Ionic 2? Looks damn nice as well and plays into Google's Progressive Web App concept.

I'm not sold on React either, but it's pleasant to use. State just makes so much sense. Combined with Redux makes web apps dev consistent, and logical. Not saying it's rooted yet like jquery with massive consensus, but it's getting there everyday that google decides to ayyyy lmaoo-ate everyone that jumped on the angular train initially. Just FYI, don't bother learning angular 2, google is purging after realizing its fuckup and skipping angular 3 straight to angular 4.

Not familiar with Ionic 2. Took a look, but I'm pretty interested. Not sure if native React does mobile apps so this is worth looking into.

This is my set-up right now.

Boot-Strap + own libraries for CSS.
React + Redux for MVC
Webpack
Babel for the ES6 meme
Node.js
MongoDB, not sure if this is the right horse to back. maybe I should do postgresql or any other nosql.

No one has job security in the "future".
>>
The dynamic internet was a mistake
>>
Because html is easy as fuck and doesnt require a brain to master. Mastering front end development doesn't require the algorithmic skills/logic used in other fields.
>>

Very cool. Nice setup! I would recommend Postgres just so you could have transactions, but I guess it depends on your use case.

Yeah, I like the concept behind React alot, and it is promising that Netflix moved so much of their code over to these technologies.

Oh, snap. I didn't realize that about angular. Thanks for the heads up.
