I was trying to open up the settings up on my iPhone but the app kept crashing each time I tried to open it. Next thing I know the screen just turns black and won't turn back on. Anyone know what I can do? There are no apple stores near me (uni in rural location) and I absolutely need my phone for calendars/organization/etc.

Is it possible that this sort of issue can happen if the phone sustains physical damage? I got angry and threw my phone against the floor a couple of times a few hours ago, but the phone was still working right after, it was only now that I got the black screen.
