Current state of windows

These issues are well known and are a result of the archaic retarded system windows uses behind the scenes to manage its own settings.
They're becoming apparent because they're switching everything into metro/neon/whateverthefuck style panels and are having to do a lot of softlinking

Windows is a sinking ship. I wouldn't install such broken and unstable garbage in my PC. If I really have to, I would use it in a VM

My craptop decided to shit itself and so I decided to clean install windows 10.

Ironically it did not want to install in the SSD, says windows cannot boot from that drive. So I installed ubuntu GNOME, it just fucking works.

I just installed Windows 8 and there are like 150 "optional updates" I haven't installed because some of them are le telemetry botnet shit.

Should I just avoid installing any optional updates? Am I missing out on anything?

As far as i know there are only 4 updates that contain telemetry crap, and they are labeled as 'important' so you might have installed them already. This is not true, I had 2 internal drives, 1 external drive or usb stick plus a webcam connected and Win 10 installed without any issue.
