Try some webkit wraps, such as surf or midori, you cant get lighter than that if you want to load your pages properly. Javascript is number one cause of RAM eating, try to use as less js possible.

If you have a lot of RAM, your web browser will use a lot of RAM. That's what it's there for.
I have 3GB and run Chromium with zero issues.
