I still like windows 7 better but i got roped into win 10 when i built my new machine due to some better part compatibility. Overall it's ok I guess but I wish they would have stuck with whatever design philosophy they had that landed them at windows 7.

I only use it for shitty games that I pirate every now and then, but I noticed that it gets slightly less dastardly with each update. For one, the ads disappeared from the start menu awhile ago and the UI is getting a bit more consistent across the board. I still dislike Microsoft's current design language though. I wish they still let me use the classic theme instead of the pointlessly bloated metro one.

I think anonymity on the internet is bad and people should instead be held accountable for everything they say and do online. Explain to me why my view is retarded.

recent intel hardware doesn't support previous windows versions. in some cases intel doesn't provide drivers at all and the only thing you get is the drivers the come with windows10.

well, it seems intel does support linux and it can run alternatively to win10 but no previous windows.

So.... either linux, wine on linux or reactos. ReactOS really needs more support in development and donations. There is a good chance that newer hardware can be integrated (backported) to reactos.

dad bought me a new laptop for christmas that had windows 10 home pre-installed. it took about 30 minutes to sift through all the settings to turn off everything, but now i don't have any ads, any notifications, any edge pop-ups, nothing from cortana, etc.

otherwise, it's fast and sorta intuitive. here are my thoughts on edge but otherwise i'm pretty happy. i'll be putting it on my new desktop too (out of necessity)

Pretty sure you can disable the update check on the Enterprise, let alone auto download.
I think it's in:
gpedit.msc -> Admin Templ -> all settings -> Configure Automatic Updates -> Disabled

Liked it a lot but had many problems with disc usage and weird updates even if I disabled them. I read a lot about it but nothing resolved my issues so after a few months I went back to Windows 7 (had 8 for long time after it released but I didn't feel like installing it again). Now it just works, let's say flawlessly so I'll stick with it.

My reason for it is that I end up using one or the other probably 90% of the time, which makes it a little bit of a waste of space. I should get a bigger SSD I guess, but windows alone is a big nig.

The first few months I also thought Win10 is ok.
But with each update something broke.
- it changed my settings (especially fastboot=off -> on , which prevented me from booting in Linux)
- Uninstalled bloatware, like Xbox-App comes back
- My Headphones didn't work for a month
- I can't connect my phone anymore (funny, because its a Windows phone)

Summary: I'm using Linux now
