you are wasting years of your life staring at the road, hearing the same shitty music (or even worse, radio), breaking, accelerating, looking for a parking lot, and ofcourse taking your bloated movement machine to a mechanic once in a while and get ripped off.

i save all that time for reading a good book, watching interesting videos, eating, sleeping, and staring at qt girls - all done in the train, bus, or uber. sure it takes an extra minute for every 3 minute by car, but it is worth keeping for my sanity.

> to a mechanic once in a while and get ripped off.
I don't take my car to the mechanics for shit I can't fix. I never take my car to have basic maintenance done as I can do it all myself. Oil, brakes, rotors, any suspension work, hell I can even mount my own tires and balance them because I'm not a fucking retard who pays a mechanic to put it on a machine watch it spin around and put a balance on it.

You just criticized me for wasting money but you'll pay an uber driver loads more just to get around to some place that a train (that you already pay for) won't take you? What a burden I can just go right there and fuck your gf before you know you're a cuck.

I don't think you even understand how EVs work..

You just don't wait, you plug it in at home when you get back and you have 100% the next morning. Without going out of your way to go to the gas station, so you actually save time.

Apartements with parkinglots can have chargers

If you actually drive more than 50km to work you should consider moving in to a closer location, the amount of gas you spend driving is not worth it on the long run

Dont go honda. Yes the cost of maintenance is cheap, but the cost of owning a toyota is waaaaay cheaper.

Go with a 1990 - 2001 toyota Camry,
Ive owned 2 in my life,

1st was a 95 that was stolen, then now I have a 98 with a ignition switch so they can't jack it.

I bought both cars at about 200k miles for 1k each. I then put about 400 -700 dollars in quick repairs and maintenance and ham your all set.

Be realistic. All you need is AC, radio and power locks and windows.
Also remember radios and speaker sets are cheap and easy to in stall

Practicality. I'd consider a hybrid but not a pure EV. With an ICE, I can fill up in minutes from either ubiquitous filling stations or a backup petrol container kept in my shed. Even the fastest supercharging points take an order of magnitude longer than it takes to refuel an ICE car.

Electric motors are very efficient but batteries are currently very inefficient in both mass/capacity and volume/capacity. There is colossal market interest in more efficient batteries but no leaps forward have been made. I'm inclined to think it's just a matter of chemistry... that there's an inherent limit to the energy density of batteries.

So it's a choice between a huge, heavy battery bank that takes 30-60 mins to recharge from special points, and a fuel tank that takes 5 mins to recharge from literally anywhere.

I don't give a shit about cars. I own an old 60HP Punto that drives me from A to B at a decent pace without shitting the bed too often or using too much gas, which is honestly all I care about in a car.
I spend a lot of money on quality things, most of them technology-related, but I have absolutely no attachment to cars whatsoever, or a desire to upgrade. If I won a supersport right now, or really anything better than the old POS I drive right now, I would just sell it and spend the money on things I actually care about.
>>

Because the P100D starts at 80k which s rediculous for what it is. They have known issues with fit and finish, and if you spent 80k on a BMW or Mercedes you'd have a nicer ride.

Besides, I walk to work so it's not worth it for hoe little I drive anyways. Of I had to commute an hour or more to work then the autopilot would be tempting.

I can appreciate it if the enthusiast puts some thought into it, like building your own car, or restoring classics by yourself.
But what is the point of dropping $100000 on a mass manufactured "sports" car?
It requires no creative thought whatsoever.

How much is "often"
My commute to work is short, even if I factor in some errands and other shit I imagine my total km for the day to be under 200.

They depreciate like any other car would so even if the 'fill ups' are cheap, its a long long pay off period for the car.
