Most crypto books I come across even "beginner" ones are too advanced for me. I need one that assumes less mathematical knowledge and is self-contained. Any recommendations?

in words you might understand...
*rips fabric*
just study math then come back to that book
read a mathematical reasoning book, then a number theory book, then go back to your crypto books. you can't just skip ahead.

I'd let the girl on the right shit or step on me if she wanted to.

You need to know linear algebra properly before you can learn cryptography properly. And Number theory, a bit of graph theory and a few other things. Just get a minor in math in the right courses at whatever shit university you attend.

this. there's no way you can make any progress on crypto unless you understand the math. It's like trying to write without learning the letters first
