This guy could receive text messages but couldn't send them. Later upgraded to a 388 that could actually send text messages, but boy were they expensive.

I've only had 3 phones so far. My first one was almost a decade ago. It was a shitty Motorola prepaid phone. It was shaped almost like a giant flattened pill. It was alright. It could only make/receive calls, send/receive SMS messages, and had a built-in maze game I liked.
Then after that I moved on to a CricKet TXTM8 3G. I'll never forget how shitty that thing was. It was fine for 3 months, then paint started falling off of the buttons which made it hard to find certain symbols. Then there was a bootlooping issue that happened whenever the battery reached 12% to which the company essentially told me, "OK, so just buy another phone, I guess?" Then the screen turned white near the end of the phone's life, so I had to rely on muscle memory to do anything. It was sort of a step up, though, because it had a full keyboard, a 3 MP camera, a music player, and a (terrible) browser built-in, so that was cool.
Then I got a Galaxy S4, which was my first smartphone. I still use it. It's hanging on really well. It's not great but it still functions. I don't see it hanging on for another two years though. I really should've gotten a larger capacity though. 16 GB was definitely not enough, especially considering TouchWiz only leaves you with half of the advertised available storage space. 8 gigs is really easy to fill up.

But fuck that TXTM8 and fuck CricKet.
