considering its just a little over double the price, will last probably as long as dual cores held out (5-7 years after they should have been completely abandoned) you would be stupid to get the pentium.

If your build is that fuckin strapped for cash, you should be looking at used anyway.

but again with that said we don't know how low their skus will go. they have 4/4 4/8 6/6 6/12 8/8 8/16 to play with with a 8/16 of higher binning.

amd telling us at ces that '8 core 16 thread at 500 would be a solid downward shift in performance while 8 core 16 thread at i7 price would be industry changing' so if they start at 8/18 at 350, and 6/12 is at 250, that would be between there is an 8 core, and if 4/8 is 150, that means between there and 6/12 is a 6/6 so below 150 would be a 4/4

There will also likely be a 2/2 2/4 3/3 3/6 4/4 and 4/8 once the apus launch... but this is all assuming that smt disabled cpus will happen which we dont know, we also dont know for a fact if there will be 6/12 or 8/16, for all we know there is a 7/14 also.

Depends entirely on how entry-level it is.
The G4560 is an interesting CPU, but if AMD releases a 4T/4C Ryzen chip around the same price point, G4560 will be rendered useless. G4600 is already useless because it's priced too far from G4560 and too close to FX-8320 which, despite being on an older platform, performs better for only a small increase in price.
Intel's entries in the low-end budget desktop market are generally pitiful at best. Not worth going with Intel unless you get at the very least an unlocked i5.
The G4560 would be alright in an office machine, but that again depends on just how competitively AMD is going to price Ryzen's entry-level chip.

The 4560 is basically only able to match something that is almost identical to it, 2c/4t. Anything of Intel's with 4c slaps the shit out of it, and AMD has near-parity of performance with Intel with Ryzen.
