Either you should have the rest of the room lit on a similar exposure level to your monitors, or just turn the brightness on them down. I always keep the camera settings unchanged, with the lowest ISO available and the shutter speed on either 1/4 or 1/2, depending on the lighting, and sometimes even 1/8. Apart from that, it really is just about not making an area too bright, because you either need to overexpose everything, making that area (the monitors usually) look even brighter, or you need to underexpose it, which makes the rest really dark, but kinda fixes the monitors. If everything is similar then you don't have issues.

the early M's tend to have a thicker steel plate and that's pretty much the extent of their differences, I've noticed the rivets on the old models tend to stay on much better too. My 1987 SSK still has every rivet perfectly in tact where as my 1993 was almost completely falling apart. If you bolt mod two models, one new, and one old there isn't much of a difference in feel desu.

Everything has been great, haven't been up to much honestly. How's everything for you?

I am trying to get a partial refund for the prints.
They arrived in pretty poor condition. The frames are all scratched up and have a few nicks.
The prints also have imperfections.
Looks decent enough on the wall but am upset it arrived in such way, especially for the price.
The frames feel pretty cheap.

I don't need anything newer if anything I'm going to do is literally just surf the internet all day,maybe watch some Youtube and do such things. Literally,it makes no sense to have a i3 or such for this,when a Pentium E2180 still does the job. As for the case,I hate black,and the newer cases on the market just scream "edgy gaymer case" regardless of what they look. They just don't have that feeling that when you open them you actually see a computer,not some bling-bling-y stuff that people now name a PC. It's one main reason why I chose to have a 2003-2005-ish case. It's cheap,yes,but at least it gives the real look of a computer. Nowadays,any office PC I'd come across,it would be i3 or equal AMD parts threw together in some edgy black case made of thinner steel than aluminium foil.

Just my 2 cents. Probably nobody will read this,but TL;DR version - why replace something if it still works and it's still useful?

It's a 22 inch. I could have gone more retro and use a 17inch Phillips CRT (which goes to 1920x1200,much to my surprise) but the 22 inch LCD puts less strain on my eyes than the CRT). That,and I am having trouble looking on bigger screens from where I sit. (32" is my limit)

As for SSDs,I am not planning to get one because it's a quite aged system,despite being useful. Yeah,if I would have a Q6600 (or a Sandy/Ivy Bridge i3) then that could justify the reason to get one. But for a E2180? As quite overkill as it sounds,the 1TB drive it has is going to do fine. After all,it was free anyways,it came with a modded Wii I got from a friend. (I sold the Wii for the phone I took the picture with - a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime LTE)
