Where might a find a tutorial for IRL cam-ripping? Seems like a very secretive sport, I couldn't find guides on any of my PTs, and I'd like to give back to the community a tad. I'd also like to apply some IRL OPSEC.

I don't really understand the torrenting world.

So, in the following situation:

before i go check all the threads in all the invite forums, where does AB recruit? any of PTP/BTN/PTH?
>>
>>58583132
Why do you want a seedbox though? Generally they're not really worth getting unless you have a really limited home connection, and/or are trying to take advantage of a freeleech event. Maybe if you're trying to /pyramid/.

If you're just trying to build ratio quickly on a site that doesn't have BP (e.g., PTH or BIB), I'd say get a box with 10Gbps and decent bandwidth, and you don't need to worry as much about storage size. BYSH or Seedhost would be good options.

But if you want a seedbox long term, to compensate for a shitty home connection, I'd suggest something with slower speeds but more storage. Cloudboxie has a 4TB plan for €25/month if you can afford that. Otherwise maybe wait for Feral to come back, or BYSH has some plans designed with that type of use as well.

PTH. Apollo has been on decline since PTH started doing interviews. The gap between releases and active users is gaping between both trackers in favour of PTH. Really, just use PTH. And don't mind the snatcher/buffer meme from PTH, it's not really true.

>>58583603
What did you download?
>>
>>58583462
Chances are, you're not uploading because no one is snatching what you're seeding. Most private trackers have tutorials for configuring your torrent client to be optimized for private trackers, and for forwarding your ports to be connectable. But that stuff isn't really necessary. You should be good to go if you were able to seed on public trackers.

Try to grab new uploads, especially of popular stuff. Or freeleech torrents, especially if you can get on them early. Those are more likely to get snatched, so you're more likely to get at least a bit of buffer.

Are you on sites with bonus point systems? If so, actually uploading to peers isn't as important as just letting files passively sit in your client. If the site says your seeding (check your profile) then you should be fine.

Are there any other "genuine" bollywood trackers apart from Desitorrents and Hon3yHD? Both are shite but at least DDR from Desitorrents has some clue on how to encode unlike the fuckface pajeets on Hon3yhd. I use these trackers to get uploads on better trackers like hdb, ptp and ahd. >>
>>58584034
The program isn't open source. You cannot generate a checksum on your own with it. It creates a checksum when you rip and you can verify the checksum with the program after the fact. How dumb do you think EAC devs are if they would just let anyone generate a checksum.

Yes, but most are inactive, and in a week more they will probably have less active per day than PTH despite being a larger tracker.

Not anymore. Now PTH has both more seeders and leechers.

Not even trying to shill, but you're being way too cynical.

APL is not at all on the decline. There's going to be fluctuations over time, but both APL and PTH are very healthy imo. Eventually, 90+% of everything from what.cd will be uploaded on both, and at that point it will come down to the community, which I predict will also end up pretty similar.

From what I've seen the only checksum that a EAC logs uses are cyclic redundancy checks to check (CRC32) to check for the accuracy of the rips.

It doesn't use anything else to check if the file itself has been modified.

XLD logfiles in the other hand have a signature, which it's probably a SHA hash of the log file that has been signed in the servers.

I'm not familiar with the XLD API so I'm not going to say it's simple to make dummy requests to their servers to have arbitrary SHA hashes signed with their private key.

However, it doesn't look like logchecker.php queries the XLD's server to verify for the legitimacy of the signature anyway which makes generating a fake signature unnecessary for this purpose.

Either way, none of this applies to EAC since there is not signature and, hence, modifications to the logfile are not automatically detected. So yes, I'd say those devs are pretty dumb in respect on that.

From what I can gather, it is frowned upon by tracker staff to participate in this thread. Why? I've never seen something in a tracker's rules forbidding public discussion of trackers, so long as invites aren't being offered. This plays into the /marked/ meme.
>>
>>58584601

Despite how it may appear this general has facilitated trading and continues to do so. Even though most of the original community in this general have long since gone and the traders have found better ways to do it, you could still find your way into their groups if you desired.

To add to this, we have discussed ratiocheating and other discussion that is considered verboten by tracker staff such as recruitment paths. They don't have any control over what happens here, we're essentially a lawless arm of the tracker community that they can do absolutely nothing to stop. So of course when they see a chance to take one of us down who foolishly makes themselves known then that's what they will do.

Just don't fucking tell anyone you post in this general or give anyone any hint whatsoever. It's that simple. If you really must jeopardise your account then fine, you'll probably never actually get banned, but is it worth that 'maybe' hanging over you for the rest of time?

Whether or not cabal admins will admit it people HAVE been banned for posting in this general, there are IRC logs that are probably lost to the sands of time but they used to get reposted in this general all the time.

So I ask again, is the reason that you must make your tracker and /ptg/ identity mutually known so important that you will risk losing all of your accounts? I'd say the answer is almost definitely 'no'. It's your call.
>>
>>58584756
Thank you for the info. It seems like you might be thinking I am the anon who was talking about losing their account., that is not me. I am simply curious.
>>
>>58584791
I come across strongly whenever I talk about this issue because I need to make it so clear how untrustworthy tracker staff are. You should extend the general rules I said there to any potential interaction with tracker staff. The ONLY reason I have ever contacted any staffer ever was to ask for an invite on official recruitment threads. That's it. Once in you just keep your head down, no forum posting, no commenting on torrents, nothing at all unless it is absolutely necessary. Don't make yourself known at all.

The guy coughing doesn't matter because someone will end up syncing direct audio to it at some point. It's a lost art, 15 years ago the Telesyncs done by Centropy, VideoCD and other groups like that were fucking incredible. I'd say they were even better than the VHS screeners around at the time because they at least had the correct aspect ratio. They used the best cameras anyone could get their hands on and had perfect audio every time.

Years of busts ruined it all. Now everyone just takes shit foreign language cams from whatever site they can find them on and syncs english audio to them. Really getting audio is more useful than camming in most cases. Sometimes a movie is uploaded to Russian iTunes before any other country gets it and all they have for it is cam audio. Also a shitty cam with direct audio is always better than a perfect cam with terrible audio.

Kids these days don't know how good this shit could be, I swear...

Yeah, that's what I mean, I don't know too much about camrips because most of the ones nowadays seem to be pretty shit.

I assume studios eventually caught on and started adding theatre identifying information to the actual films to better be able to bust people for this. Shame that no one does them properly anymore.

Recaptcha v2 is even more hook 2bh. v1, you're transcribing books and street signs. v2 you're selecting fucking sushi and tea to train their shitty neural network as an unpaid google employee.

I like smaller specialzied trackers, so: yourexotic for huge asian porn torrent packs, cinemaz and kg for underground, avistaz for dorama, bib for books, emp for having a proper pron tracker. apart from that, you're doing ok
