I can't decide between these two boards. Asus is seen as a more reputable motherboard manufacturer but there is no reviews out for their Prime A. AsRock is seen as a lesser manufacturer since they're a lower division owned by Asus, however their board has some good reviews as seen below. Do I go with the more reputable manufacturer or the board that is tried and tested?

>lower division owned by Asus
They are owned by Pegatron which have split off from Asustek.
Asus no longer ask Pegatron to make their motherboards, but instead ECS.
Asrock have been gaining their reputation for reliability lately, so there is little problems going with either board.
If you are focused on overclocking, you will have to wait on forum threads discussing Z270 motherboard VRMs(last time I checked there were none), and then decide. The Asrock have more phases but it does not necessarily mean the VRM in general is better(My guess would be 12 for Asrock and 8+2 for Asus), since the quality of the MOSFETs, Inductors and capacitors are crucial too.

I decided on the AsRock board. Can't find any reviews that show overclocking on the Asus board. Many review sites have tried the AsRock board already and are hitting 5 GHz no problem so I'm gonna go with that.

Been using PC for the past 2 decades and I didn't even know about this.
Thanks anon.

Correction: Dealing with PC.
Looking at the Asus boards as well as they are the top sellers.
Unfortunately it looks like there's been a half dozen DOA boards/spontaneous failures just from the Amazon reviews alone.
I might hold out for Gigabyte if this is a continuing problem.
