GPU sag and sneaky cables edition.
I dont have gpu sag, but I tightened the gpu block so hard I bent the pcb :)
Anyone know a way to get rid of that damn overclock barrier on the gtx1060? I want a pascal bios editor NOW.

Frankenstein's rig lol. Bent the pcb and ghetto cables galore
Specs: i7-4770k, R9 390, 24gb ddr3 1600 cl9, 128gb ssd, 1tb HDD 750w PSU.
All made in 2014 with the 390 a RMA from a 290 6 months ago

Geez, Michael J. Fox, didn't know you're posting on /g/

Do you have Parkinson's?

If you drink less than 8 energy drinks a day, you may get a ok picture..
>>58579127
Why do nothing about the GPU sag, though? For fucks sake, get a dowel rod and paint it black and use it to prop up the GPU.
patiently waiting for Ryzen
I'm replacing my cooler soon and getting another video card then I will be done for another 6-7 years at least.

the only problem now is I can't find a small enough screwdriver to remove the m.2 drive it came with to swap it with muh 950 Pro
>>58579229
get a bigger case and clean up the mess jesus christ
>>58579873
No go on bigger case, I want smaller. But I may try for a cleaner setup when I get Zen, atleast as far as cables go.
I also MAY switch the top rad out for a huge side mounted rad.. We'll see.

Dell 8pin/10
Mind showing us a picture of the m.2 slot
>>58580038
And what if zen turns out to be shit?

>Fixed.
Forgot my Image.
>>58580038
>i want smaller but im going to make it huge anyway
>>58580089
nice
>>58580044
nah I'm using the system now, it's behind the graphics card. I probably have a small enough screwdriver somewhere as I added a 950 Pro to my laptop before, but fuck if I can find it.
>>58580051
It won't. This time I promise it won't.
IT CAN'T.
>>58580104
I used to have itx/dtx, but I could never find a case that satisfied.. If I went small, i'd have to give up the optical drive and multicard reader(5.25 bay), but usually could keep my soundcard. And temps where 80c+ on everything, so no overclocking (or even stock for the gpu)
If I went a little bigger I usually got the optical, but no card reader, and no 3'rd slot for the soundcard. Ok temps but no overclocking.
So I just said fuck it for now and got matx.
Anyone know a better space utilized matx case? I need 2x 5.25 front bays, and psu over the cpu area of mb or pref inside the case somewhere (point being to cut case height)..
>>58580336
or even just a cd sized slot in front port for the optical and a 3.5" fornt bay for the card reader really..
>>58580357
What motherboard do you have? I can't seem to find blue Mobos anywhere except from shittybyte

Wow, someone actually bought a predator.
>muh expandability
>cpu only
You realise that a corsair AIO pretty much performs identically at half the price?
Also, is that a sound card from the 90's in there?
>>58580478
>>58580357
an old one!
Lga 1155 was the Blue Era ( cooler )
Lga 1150 was Red Era ( faster )
now its 1151 Black Era ( stealthy )
the few blue lga 1150 are the Assrock extreme 4 & 6

Just buy a better non-reference card next time anon
>>58580765
not reference. that's an msi gaming 980ti. that cooler was waaay too loud.

>>58580881
not the cpu/mb I hope? 1.gen is best gen :)
>>58579127
I have the same GPU, the sag is inevitable
>>58581152
nah just gpu/drives/fans/case at some point, still happy with the x5650/x58 combo. need an updted cpu-z/speccy on there too scaled it back to 4ghz.
>>58579497
Your motherboard: "Please too big senpai."
>>58581651
Because of temp? The 60's aint bad at all for that oc if it where full load..
I had success with lowering the cpu pll volt to 1.75v from 1.8v (you could try lower aswell), that helps temps and didn't affect stability on my x5650..
>>58582221
at full load its nearing 80s, that speccy was taken shortly after dropping full load. at 4.4v it took a stupid high amount of vcore in the bios (1.46something) and still i ended up with the occasional BSOD so I just went back to 4ghz and spent the afternoon dropping the vcore which is now at 1.26something in the bios and after vdroop its 1.232v. I'll take the drop in clocks for the increased stability and temp drops.
>>58582287
nearing 80s at 4.4GHz I meant, at 4.0 the highest I saw on IBT was 71c and IBT really stresses it I still need to test with some real life application
>>58582287
Ah ok, 80 is a tad too much :P I was running a full water setop tho, not AIO.. loaded around 70c at 4.5ghz 1.45vcore 1.42vtt and 1.75v pll if I remember correctly On a Rampage 3 Extreme with fullcover block (got everything used ofc)
Regret selling it, I wanted a ITX system but that never satisified. Should have gotten a Rampage 3 Gene instead, the 115x platforms is pretty boring with the Z & K multiplier oc only.
Hoping Zen is as badass as it seems :)
>>58582717
at 4.4 i was seeing mostly about the 76c mark under load, just very unstable. cheers for the vtt and pll voltages i'll give 4.4 a shot again in the morning
>>58582844
You may need to up the chipset voltage aswell, using over 200 bclk usually require 1.3-1.4v on the IOH or ICH.
Also keep the "uncore" frequency atleast double your ram speed, so for 1600mhz ram, uncore needs to be 3200mhz or higher for things to be stable normally. It is shown as NB frequency in cpuz in the memory tab.
Good luck.
>>58580697
>what are plans for the future
A Corsair AIO also:
1) Looks like shit.
2) Won't let me add a GPU to the loop in the future.
Though if I had known about the issues with the Predator lineup at the time I bought mine, I would have gone for a kit instead. 2 RMAs later they might have finally made it reliable with revision 1.1E.
Also, no, it's a sound card from the late 2000s. Not everyone wants to use HDMI or 3.5mm jacks for their audio.
>>58579740
>You downloading 4k movie rips or something onto that thing why so many drives?
Yeah I rip BluRays for the Plex Server I run for my friends
>>58579127
how am i doing?
Gundam Guts.
General question - why are you people running such powerful PSUs? All of machines in this thread could go on 400-500W PSUs easily, possibly less.
>>58584326
Scalability.
If I wanted to I could change my setup to a 1080 SLI or run a few HDD's or indeed SSD's in raid with no drama.
>>58584326
When I chose my HX750i, I had a PSU budget and a list of connectors I wanted. Specifically, I wanted 4 8-pin PCI-e and 10 or more SATA connectors.
It lives up to these requirements, and so I decided to get a 750W 80+ platinum PSU with muh :digital: gimmick, knowing full well that it is overkill for a system that (currently) pulls at most 350W from the wall. But it's one that I can keep for many years while I continue to add more and more storage to my system (currently at 9.8TB and running out, need to find a nice SAS/SATA controller) and maybe move over to a dual CPU build or add a second GPU later down the line.
It's also always silent in my case, as it won't turn its fan on until it draws over 450W from the wall, so that's a thing.
>>58579127
sag is fixed, but those cheeky cables.
i need to get a smaller res, too lazy to do anything atm tho.
