Is it worth it? Did Dell made an overpriced piece of shit? Is this finally the beginning of Linux on mainstream hardware makers?

it's a different market.
With thinkpads you'll get a better price/performance ratio and the ability to switch more parts, while the XPS is pretty much your macbook pro equivalent.
I have a first generation XPS 13, here are some things I have to say:
>Wifi drivers are proprietary, but other than that it is probably the best laptop I've ever had in terms of linux compatibility.
>Low keytravel on the keyboard. I got used to it, but I know people who gave it back after a week. This isn't something you get used to; either you don't care or you do
>the screen is wonderful, but I never found a use for the touchscreen, which is a waste imo
>battery life is great, I tend to get 10-12 hours doing browsing/writing, not sure about other tasks
>trackpad is good, but I never had a shitty laptop so I can't really compare
That display to monitor ratio is pretty sexy. But I think the surface book is the best windows laptop on the market

>shitty touchpad

Superior.
Even if you hate the tablet mode, fuck the tapering towards the front trend that the Macbook Airs started.
