Why does Firefox look like shit under Linux?
>>58565494
what distro are you using?
>>58565512
Arch.
It's fine for me
What's wrong with it?
>>58565523
carry on then
>>58565523
Arch is a DIY distro. Either tweak your font rendering to your liking or install something like the infinallity bundle.

The new Thinkpad Pro 2016 Edition with Retina Display doesnt have this problem
is your screen fucking vertical
jesus i thought hell only had 9 levels
Here's the exact same page in Chromium. I've also tried to adjust the width & height to be exact same as I could get it.
Take a look at the differences.... wtf do they look completely different?
Pic in OP was Firefox Developer version but it shouldn't make any difference anyway.
WTF is going on?
>>58565558
>huge font size
why don't you set it to defaults? when you render fonts at 12px, that's when you see whether your font rendering is shit or not.
>>58565560
You gon' edit code on a horizontal widescreen?
It's fucking disgusting that there are no more modern laptops with 4:3 displays
>>58565661
well, the chromebook pixel has a 3:2 display
Could fonts be the issue? Here's the default font options for FF and Chromium on my system. Yes, I have msfonts/applefonts installed from AUR and Chromium does prefer those over whatever you have installed.
But the kerning of FF is absolutely atrocious. Are fonts or something else at the issue?

I'd love to get the Pixel LS but it's a bit expensive for no storage besides SuckDick cards and I'll have to get a job first.
>>58565712
use monospace
>>58565751
huh? It is being used on both.
could someone please post their font selections from FF?

Fucking faggots.
>>58565866
I don't have infinality installed.
>>58565555
infinality is deprecated.
prepare to remove it, if you have it.

read the wiki about font configuration for more info
but if you're too lazy:
install the necessary packages (freetype2, fontconfig) and if needed do some configuration.
basically you should enable slight hinting, lcddefault filter, antialiasing, and set subpixel to rgb
