This. There should never be anything in or on your keyboard that can't be removed with compressed air or a lightly damp washcloth. The one in OPs pic should be burned.

I accidentally spilled my cocktail on my board, I popped out all the keys, and screwed the housing, took it apart, got a tooth brush with soap, and scrubbed the rubber button inputs, let my keys soak in soap+water, and washed off the housing.

It's clearly out of a wood shop, it has likely spent it's life near some sort of milling machine. I have seen laptops used as CNC controllers with keyboards full of brass swarf.

I literally put mine in the dishwasher. Let it dry 24 hours in a few different orientations and you're good.

I use cotton swabs dipped in alcohol, but you probably need more than that.

Just take it apart and wash the top plate and all the keys
