Range rip is when you have brain damage and you rip the cd as a single track and split it afterward. The rip is fine if it's split with something like cuetools but since there's no way to tell with an EAC log how it's been split, there's no guarantee that it's a perfect rip. For all you know the ripper could have used medieval to split the tracks which is well known to cause errors.
