Been looking for so long, never gotten anywhere.

Anyone knows a diy web hosting tutorial?

Please?
>>
>>58520558
What do you mean by DIY?
A home server? In the cloud?
>>
>>58520615
Was thinking more of a home server, yeah
>>
>>58520646
What's your home internet like then? Are you NATed? Are incoming packets blocked? Is it fast enough?
>>
>>58520680
It's fast enough, I guess. What would be the recommended speed then?
>>
>>58520724
Please don't ignore the rest of those questions in >>58520680. If you don't know the answers, just tell.

Not speed. Bandwidth. It all depends on hosted content and site traffic. A lightweight site with only text is much smaller than one with many images and complicated scripts.
>>
>>58520776
Sorry mate. Well then, honestly I've no idea what you mean. Could you help me?
>>
>>58520803
Ok then.

What OS are you running, and what's your router?

We have to find out first if your ISP if putting you behind a firewall, which basically means that no world-reachable server on your network is possible.

Also, what's your ISP? It might be possible to google the answer for it.

1. I'm running win7
2. I have a broadband router (I guess that's what you mean)
3.Globe Telecom, that's my isp
>>
>>58520900
Don't tell this nigga your IP address or anything by the way. This sounds like he's trying to hack you.
>>
>>58520926
Ohh, thanks for the tip man.

>2. I have a broadband router (I guess that's what you mean)

Please tell us the model name. Now you need to set up your router and test your connection with a simple web server, on linux you'd do
# busybox httpd
, I'm not sure about windows.

From what I've found on Google, it seems to be possible on your ISP.

Here someone seems to have done it: http://forum.ragezone.com/f444/port-forwarding-using-globe-broadband-819964/

Hey man, thanks. I appreciate you helping me on this. I'll brb though. Gotta go somewhere.
>>
>>58521073
If you'd just given me the router model name, I could have prepared you a tuturial that you'd read later.
