I'm at my wit's end here, /g/. Here is my problem:

I have a 4k TV with a 120hz panel. It only accepts HDMI input.

I have a GTX 1070 in my PC. I would like to get a 4k, 120hz output from the PC to the TV (with HDR-10 if at all possible). Preferably over a display port-to-HDMI cable.

What cable do I need? The best that I've been able to find are cables claiming to do (somewhat dubiously) 4k at 60hz.

Is my only choice an HDMI 2.0 cable? The reason I would prefer a displayport-to-hdmi solution is that I have a Vive hooked up to the PC over HDMI, and there is only one HDMI 2.0 port on the GPU. I've heard people have had issues using the displayport input on the Vive, so I've wanted to avoid it.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Internal frequency of panel being 120Hz doesn't mean it accepts 120Hz input. All common non shady HDMI cables should support 4k@60Hz HDMI 2.0 standard which is the best you can do today with consumer TVs.

Sounds like I fucked up then. Kind of wanted to be able to output 120hz, so that 120 FPS could be useful to me. I specifically stepped up to this model because it is a 120hz panel (TrueMotion 240hz or whatever the fuck bullshit that is; I turned that off).

>truemotion
isnt that the poor people 240hz?should have got a sony
>>
It's not actually 120hz, huge latency and black frame interpolation.

It's all poor peoples frame interpolation.

A 240hz panel still only takes 60hz source material. Especially at 4k, the 4k 120hz standard only just came out, let alone 240hz, and then it actually needs content.

Real 4k 120hz panels were shown off at CES this year, so "soon".

10 bit depth is actually marketed as HDR
what's wrong?
