I would follow this upgrade path
GPU -> RAM -> CPU

The CPU is hardly ever the limiting factor, and with a quad core CPU clocked that high it shouldn't be much of a problem.

8 GB of RAM is kind of low now, but I've never seen my RAM usage go above 8 either, so it's probably fine for a while.

2 GB VRAM is not sufficient for modern games.
get a 1060 with 6 GB and you will be ok.
the RX 480 has been recently surpassing the 1060 in gaming benchmarks so you might want to check that out too before you buy a new gpu

Cheers guys I thought it might be the 960 although I'm still under the impression that everyone has 8GB, I remember reading 16GB isn't worth it.

Looking at maybe a 1060 or above to replace the 960.

Whatever is at full load is more of a bottleneck than something only at 50% usage or so.

Get a 7700k boost it to 4.9 and see the fps fly
