I sell it if there is any kind of demand, and I can still make my money back if it isn't a pain in the ass to test, list, and ship on eBay (or persuade an autist from Craigslist).

I trash it if it is a pain in the ass to prepare to sell, or if it's a rare sell that will sit on my eBay account for months.

I don't give shit away because fuck people.

There is never anything you can do with old computer shit other than gawk at it and remember when times were better.

Also, you guys know how Best Buy has those "recycle" trash cans in front of their stores (or actually inside the main walkway)? I once found a perfectly good $100 router that someone "recycled". BB employees didn't mind me taking it.

Throw it away like the useless trash it is. I view technology as a tool. I have no attachment to it. It's meaningless to me.

Selling is pointless once you have a good job. More productive things to do instead. Like being on 4chan.

I don't throw computers away until they just physically won't operate anymore.

I strip them of all usable parts, chuck the casing or plastics in my local recycling bin, mobo and screen get recycled at e-waste facility, if it's old enough to have a CFL backlight I make sure to remove the tube and dispose of it separately.
