Hey guys, So I am starting off as a developer. I am programming in c# and I want to get a laptop. I have a gaming desktop with top end specs and want to know if getting a gaming laptop is worth it or not. I travel a ton and sometimes just want to start up a game an jam. If it is viable I am looking at the Asus G752VS. I7-6700hq 3.5ghz 16gb ddr4 3000mhz 256gb ssd 1tb hdd gtx 1070. Other opinions welcome. Thanks.
>>58513013 what are you developing?
If you mean game development, I use Unity alongside Blender with zero problems on my Lenovo Y500 which I bought second hand for 400€.
That is the thing my company posted me off to do a sharepoint course that started with C# moving onto asp.net now then one more course. But end goal is sharepoint.
I am just starting off with Dev now I have a bit of SQL retail behind me but I am 19 and the company I am working for wants me to be a Dev for their Sharepoint team.

Honestly for travel, a giant laptop is going to drive you crazy. Gaming laptops have never been useful for anything. They suck vs desktops and have shit battery life and must be large because they act as a heatsink. Get a something worth the money that is travel friendly and if you wanna play games on it then just play older games.

If you try to use that for anything not plugged into a wall then you might last half an hour.
Probably paying over double the price of a desktop equivalent for 30mins of gametime and a heavy ass brick
