Would it be possible to have my garage port automatically open when my car is near my house?
I was wondering if the raspberry pi could be able to have a contact with a small device laying in the car. When the device was 50 meter from the raspberry pi, then it should activate the garagedoor. Would this be possible?
Yes.

Thanks, how?..

You can program it to make it happen

Programming and sensors. The new Raspi has wifi and bluetooth, but I have no idea what the range is like. You might need something external,

Which device should lay in the car? Could you maybe link to a device, which would be able to communicate with the raspberry pi?

Doesn't matter. Just one that is wireless maybe?

Raspi on the garage door, raspi zero in the car with bluetooth signal would work. Have them pair, exchange a key when in range. When zero disconnects after 60 seconds close door.
The logistics of doing this probably aren't worth it. You can buy kits that do this already premade. Might be better option.

This but don't doubt yourself. If you are doing this to learn go for it.

This
But I would do wifi instead if you really need that much range (50m)
You could make a simple app for your phone to manage things

Jensen you tard!
Close your garage door at night!

Also, look up ESP8266. The new ones are more expensive but include bluetooth as well.
It's a cheaper option and you can easily program it.

But the bluetooth signal won't be more than 3 meters I guess?
