Hi /g/, I don't know where else to ask this.
How hard would it be to build a minimalist car stereo like the one pictured? Maybe with a volume knob as well? I don't think I can just buy something like that
Thanks

Used to have just an amp and crossover under the seat with a single 1/8" connector cable coming up through the seats. No stereo in the dash at all.

Why would /o/ know more about building audio receivers than /g/?

buy any ricer headunit and mount in the glovebox.
run an aux cable to the centre console, install an aux jack in a blank panel.

/g/ is filled with faggots who don't know shit about electronics other than their 300 dollar Jewvidia GPU their mother bought them when they got 12.
go ask /o/, they had a thread like this up some hours ago.

Because /o/ has regular threads on the topic.

Take a piece of plastic.
Drill a hole.
Reinforce the socket so it doesn't get loose.
Jam it into a car.
It is not very hard.

If you want to maintain the stock look of your interior, but want a nice sound system you can easily bypass the radio with a line driver such as the JL Audio CL-RLC. All you need is a good set of speakers, a 4 channel amp, a sub (optional) and the line driver. This will allow you to wire the amp directly into your speakers bypassing the radio. You can then choose your input method, either an 3.5 aux in, or digital in from your phone/mp3 player. The line driver comes with its own volume knob that you can place anywhere, or modify it to work off your existing radio volume knob. Its very easy to supply power to your radio so the controls still light up. The only downside is that you will loose FM/AM function.
>stop somewhere and car stereo pauses
>stop somewhere and phone keeps playing and you have to pause it
