Just follow the wiki. Not hard, just a little time consuming. With a modern processor compile time isn't even that bad.

No it doesn't. The new partition created is left empty as there is no extracting of stage3 tar to it, and everything after the chroot is not being executed as those commands weren't passed to it as an argument
