Needed Shadowplay when you can the same shit with custom settings in Afterburner and/or OBS or XSplit.

Read a tutorial you can even get smaller file sizes than shadowplay with minimal loss in quality if you tune it right.

Then you're doing something wrong. I know in OBS you can turn the CPU encoding from fast to a slower setting and you take maybe a few frame hit. OBS will always use the CPU to a degree because Nvidia can bypass driver overhead to capture from the frontbus.

Still the amount of control you get with something like OBS is more substantial to me than gaming a few frames.
