I decided to upgrade my cpu from an Intel Pentium G3220 to an I3 4160. I think it's going to be one of my biggest regrets.
Being on a budget I have an MSI-H81M-P33 MB with a Geforce GTX 750ti and HAD x2 4gb memory.
I waited a week to get my new I3 I was like a kid on christmas morning unpacking it. Got that bitch in there and booted her up.
>No signal
You fucking whore.
Long story short I can only run 4gb of memory now because for some reason my DIMM2 works but if I put a stick of ram in there I get "No signal" on my monitor.
I've tried everything the internet has to offer for this problem from CMOS cleaning to resetting the MB and updating BIOS to no avail. So for the next 2 weeks I'm rocking 4gb of memory until my 8gb module gets here.
Anyone else got stories of horrendously shooting themselves in the foot with upgrades?

>Wrong socket type
>Unsupported ram
You only have yourself to blame.

Check your socket and processor for debris and damaged pins. And check memory for proper seating.
