has anyone actually encountered anything like these? or are they just made to post on /g/?
what's going on

This one is interesting because a binary search is actually more efficient than typing in all the numbers
>>58431043

This one's gold.

Typing in all the numbers is literally the same as binary search, except it's more efficient because with each click you reduce the set of fitting phone numbers by the factor of 10 instead of 2.

Occurs to me it might be interesting if there was some app to type words with your mouse like this. Like you specify the number of characters first, then make the word using left and right clicks.
Could be useful to make very short messages for when I'm browsing 4chan in bed and don't want to go over back to my keyboard.
>>58432884
It would take 5 times more clicks to type a word compared to typing it on a virtual keyboard.
>>58432905
Yeah but in the virtual keyboard you have to move your mouse around and pick out letters, would be a lot faster to just be able to rapidly click left and right.
Maybe...
>>58432910
Only if you already had the sequence of clicks memorized. Otherwise it would require much more thought and time.
>>58432910
Sounds somewhat plausible - 5 fast clicks instead of 1 mouse movement followed by 1 click, but only after of great deal of training.
>>58432925
Depending on how many mouse buttons you had you could just Just assign a few symbols to the buttons and type like an old dumbphone
>>58432956
That's actually not terrible considering mine has 14 buttons on it, so I could put the alphabet on 13 of them and use one for space.

It's actually not known whether or not Pi is normal (that is, whether or not its decimal expansion contains all finite decimal strings).
>>58433065
Has there been a computer running since the 1980s trying to find the end of pi or something
