/Thread
Sound is glitch-ridden in every *buntu I've tried, and wi-fi likes to drop for no reason.
openSUSE has neither of these issues for me.

I hate the plant/flavor/smell of mint and so I hate the distro too

Doesn't werk on my machine

It's good for getting stuff done if it does just werk. Debian Testing is pretty good too. I'm using Sid, but sometimes a dist-upgrade will temporarily break stuff. Really, any .deb or .rpm bistro is good. So is Suse, but no one uses it for fear of pronouncing it incorrectly. Novell employees I've met don't use the official pronunciation.
Put your dotfiles in a git repository, have your keyfiles somewhere handy, and you can always be productive within 10 minutes of acquiring a computer.

I've definitely had this on some computers. Usually on waking from suspend.

Sabayon, centos, and fedora are nice too.
I've actually had bad luck with Ubuntu and wireless drivers, whereas the three I mentioned have all worked out of the box.
That said, I realize most people do fine with Ubuntu
