Electric Razors are a fucking meme.

I've tried out several electric razors that were $70+ and they worked even shittier than the $12 one I've had for years. They can't even shave as well as the cheapest disposable blade.
>>
>he didn't fall for the safety razor meme
Kek
>>
They used to be good 20 years ago now they are nothing but garbage and a waste of money.
>>
mine works great OP maybe your face is the problem
>>
You need one of the high end $100 dollar ones with lithium batteries that lasts for weeks.
>>
I have a nice safety razor, but I'd like something that's better suited for my genitals/anus. Are there any trimmers out there that are actually good?

They're tools for people who shave very frequently/on the go.

I have to shave every damn day and often travel- it's fucking great to be able to do so with my nice electric in the shower directly under running water- no need for any cream or anything, zero friction.

That being said, always take my safety razor and a Feather or two just in case.

Last I shaved was the 31st. That's when my electric razor broke so decided to not shave for 2017.

How do you moisturize your face so it doesn't itch after like an inch of facial hair?
>>
>>58422893
Most people get a negative image off bearded guys. Depending on the person, you'll be considered lazy, unhygienic, antisocial, a creep, or (if you could pass as a middle easterner) Muslim extremist.
If you don't mind other people's opinions about you, carry on. I wouldn't want that, even if I did like having a beard.
>>
>>58419083
indeed your dad does
>>
>>58417009
plus, you get the benefit of using shaving soap sticks. I have the same now for two months and it will probably last twice as long.
They are a buck a piece. Compare that to the shaving creme meme bottles for three euros a piece and a lasting time of two weeks if you need to shave daily.
>>
To be honest getting a good shave is 90% in the pre and post shave. It doesn't really matter what you use to shave with as long as your technique is decent.

Shaving is a fucking meme. No one cares anymore. I keep a shitty $20 electric razor to trim and look mildly respectable. But in all honesty if you can't make yourself useful enough that people won't tolerate your body hair in spite of what other things you can provide, then you may as well just kill yourself. It's not like people wanted you around anyways.
>>
>'men' wanting to have a completely smooth face
>can't even tolerate stubble

Wew, you're cubicle chimps aren't you? Your boss wants you nice and smooth like a fucking bitch so you know your place. I don't get the obsession for a smooth face shit on a guy. I maintain a stubble to 2mm-ish facial hair length and I use a foil shaver on my head every 2-3 days.

The only time I ever use a razor is to touch up parts on my head and to shave my balls.

As someone who's used pretty much every razor option available, the safety razor is the most superior.

Cheap, reliable, easy to maintain and use, and still aesthetic sitting on your sink.

Electrics are fine, but my beard hair is coarse and hard. Disposables are for 13 year olds, and straight razors give you the most superior shave at the cost of time.

You'll look the coolest using a straight razor, and it cut through my beard with incredible ease. But getting to that point took a lot of effort, and maintaining it is a hassle relative to the other options.

Have this one. All of this electric shit is not working unless you guys have facial hair of 5-year-olds. I guess they work if you have pubic hair on your face.
>>
Safety razor is the most cost effective, followed by the dollar shave club. Electrics will do the job, but the blades dull quickly and hurt your skin. I haven't tried the new thing, it supposedly works by grabbing and ripping the hair out, so you stay smooth for longer, I might buy one.

I wish I could just remove all the hair on my body below the jawline. Fucking horrible neckbeard. It itches constantly and has to be shaven at least once a week. If I actually went out in public, I'd have to shave every couple of days.
>>
I got myself an Edwin Jagger safety razor a couple years ago, great chrome finish and it was $30.
I spent $20 on blades and I've barely made a dent in the pile.
I use barbasol when I'm in a rush but spend $10 on an Omega boar hair brush and a few dollars on shave soap and you're set for a long time.

I find my shave a bit more comfortable with a few days worth of stubble, that stretches out your soap and razors a long ways.
>>
I shave because I look like complete shit with a beard and mustache and I hate my neckbeard as well.

I wish I didn't need to shave these days.

Back in highschool, I only needed to shave once a week but now it feels like I have to shave everyday.

What is the evolutionary purpose of beards again?

I have a Panasonic foil shaver and it works fine. Beats spending $10 per cartridge and there's no skin irritation at all. Safety razors would be alright except I don't want to have to spend 30+ minutes doing a complex shaving ritual every morning. I can use my electric shaver without shaving cream with my eyes closed and get it done in 5 minutes.

Electric razors are garbage.

I use pic related to clean up a lot of shit. Trim close, clean up a mustache, clean up a beard. I do not use this thing to trim pubes. Buy a 20 dollar clipper from TJ Maxx for that(pro-tip)

Then I shave face/neck with a new clean disposable blade with a shield pad and at least two blades. Use some shave shit. Neutrogena is the base line. Always lotion after. It will help soften the skin to allow new hair to come out.

Be careful with lotions with alcohol--alcohol will dry out skin.

I have a big fucking beard and work does not give a fuck so I can get away with a lot more.

But the Wahl Peanut is SUPER VERSATILE. Just don't shave your nuts with it. You can buy a new blade easily with it...but once you do it, do you really want to use it on your face?

Or maybe you do...and want all that ball hair clippings rolling around. Weirdo.

Yes absolutely, and get some Gillette Silver blades from Russia. They're like $0.15 a piece. Branch out from there if you feel it's necessary. Personally I don't even care for the metal handles. I use a plastic handle.
>>
>>58421472
I have the cheapest panasonic. It works great for travel, and it uses disposable batteries so I never need to worry about the rechargeable battery wearing out. The drawbacks are: It's definitely not as good a shave as a blade, and it took at least a few weeks to get my face used to it, and if I let my hair grow for more than maybe a day and a half before shaving then it's worthless.
>>
Close shaving causes my skin to break out so bad it looks like I'm a 15 year old with severe acne for an entire week. Eletric razors are literally a miracle for me

Does testosterone cause facial hair, or is there no way to slow it's growth?

I use these in my Merkur razor. Bought the 100 pack about 5 years ago, still only halfway through it. I swap in a new blade once a month.

I gave myself razor burn pretty bad at first, but it didn't take long to learn how to shave properly. You just need a light touch, and to control the blade with its angle rather than with pressure.

every man should grow a beard and stop being a little bitch.

anyway just get a 15 dollar electric trimmer instead of an electric razor, it'll last for years. no not the kind that runs on battery, the wall plug kind. they come with adapters so you can keep your beard from looking all jihad or duck dynasty because sadly that look is played out.

My Casio DB-31 has been functioning for at least 25 now. My nephews are in high school now and they weren't even born when I changed the battery in it the last time.

If only I took better care of it when I was in grade school, I would still wear it today - the front bezel is extremely scratched.

It gets as much as 5 minutes off after a month, so it's not really the best watch.

Also I need a proper strap for it since the factory one dries out and breaks every 1-2 years. The main reason I stopped wearing it was because the local watch shop didn't have any more compatible straps.

I'm too lazy to look up which belts are compatible with, and look good, and don't wear out after 1 year, for this old watch.

Now, if I wanted to take pride in my watch, I'd be wearing my old soviet Molnija pocket watch.

Safety razors are best overall.

>Cartridge razors, good in theroy, in practice you don't replace the blades and they get ridiculously dull quickly, and you basically result in multiple dull blades going over your skin.

>Tell me more about the chemicals?

Be fucking careful with them. Read the instructions--which will tell you to be very careful (and most of them advise not using them on or around the genitals, period)--and then proceed to be even more careful than that.

I tried some powder shit on my face once, because I bought it without reading enough to find out that it wasn't powdered lather. It claimed to be for avoiding razor bumps which I guess it did at that. It worked great as far as hair removal went, but it gave me chemical burns, despite the relatively short amount of time it was on my skin. I did the small test area beforehand too. I got fairly lucky. From what I read online, as I googled wtf I needed to do to treat the burn, I came across a lot of horror stories of very severe burns that needed medical treatment, and some of which caused long term/permanent damage. Mine cleared up in about a day and a half, though the skin felt sensitive and was easily irritated for about a week.

And while we're on the subject, don't put shit like this on your balls. Ever. I didn't try that, but while looking for answers I noticed that quite a lot of people had, and they came to very much regret the decision. The skin on your balls is extra sensitive. Even if you use this sort of stuff everywhere else, chances are it's gonna give your ball sack chemical burns, beginning the moment you apply it. Even products meant for pubic hair removal warn against using it on your balls. It really can't be stressed enough: keep that shit off your balls.
>>

>>
>>58437326
Stop putting so much pressure on your face?
Use a old fashioned safety razor, and good shaving cream(not canned stuff, soap or cremo), and really sharp blades like Gillette Blue or Feathers.

And then, here's the important part: soak your face with a HOT rag, almost painfully hot, for like three minutes before starting. When you go to shave it will be so smooth that you won't get feedback at all, you can't feel that you're shaving, you will cut yourself a few times out of pure confusion because you can't feel anything. Once you get used to it though, it's just lightly rubbing a smooth feeling piece of metal across your face and watching the hair come off
>>
>>58418591
I get way less razor burn and ingrown hairs using a safety razor than i ever did an electrical or gilette razor

you get used to it quite quickly in regards to the cuts, once you master the technique which should only take a couple of shaves, you'll probably get even less cuts and knicks than a regular Gillette razor

As has been said elsewhere multiple times in the thread, if you value your time, you're going to use an electric razor.

>b-but muh superior close shave! Every picometer nearer I get to the inside of the follicle is a picometer closer to God!

Except you forgot the part where nobody actually fucking cares.

As long as my face LOOKS hairless, which my shitty $20 amazon Philips electric shaver does fine in <3 minutes, I'm satisfied and can get on to the more important things in my life. I usually just shave down to stubble anyway and let it grow in a bit before repeating because that's the most optimized zone of facial hair attractiveness.

THAT SAID, the ass battery in my ancient Philips norelco QT4000/42 trimmer, pic related, is finally shitting out on me after 4 full years. What trimmer should I replace it with that's cheap?
