SSHD's were created to bridge the gap between expensive SSD's and the slowness of HDD's

They work well for what they are but now that SSD's have become so inexpensive they didn't gain much traction.

They benefit you most when you use your computer for the same routine or same programs every single time. The SSHD caches your most used programs so they load faster and better also helps your OS load faster since that'll always be cached

I have a 256GB SSD, it's will be the second drive for my data, the SSHD will be overkill? Should I get the normal one?

Spend the extra $20 for a drive that won't eat your data.

SSHDDs have two points of data failure, the SSD and the hard drive. If either of these storage mediums fails you'll lose your data.
Not only that, but you're only using this for storage. You probably don't need super fast access to most data you'd be storing long term, so why not get a hard dive?
