gentoo
Thunderbird

To answer OP's actual question, I personally use Mozilla Thunderbird
gentoo

But gentoo is a file manager.
Sadly, the only two decent clients are Thunderbird, which has been basically abandoned, and Windows Live Mail, which goes away in a few months.
Everything else is shit.

Outlook 2003

The Bat! By far the best mail user agent ever created, the only piece of software I've ever paid for (and was happy to), and the only piece of software I miss as a linuxfag.
gentooMail

I mean.. It's a mail client that works, what else do you want?

Support for Exchange active sync and a decent set of import/export tools for other client formats for POP3 accounts.

Postbox

that's fine but most people don't really need that and thunderbird is still the best free option for most people.
seriously, try googling 'windows 10 mail app won't print' and see how abysmally bad the stock windows 10 apps are.
Paying for Outlook is probably an even worse experience somehow.
Thunderbird
Microsoft Outlook 2016. The 2013 version is alright, too. I used Mozilla Thunderbird before, but didn't enjoy the experience. Certainly never going back to web mail that's for sure.

why can't you just use the browser?
Mailbird, it's fairly new and beats everything. Postbox is a piece of bloated shit.

live mail was pretty good
