What caliper do you use, /g/?
>>58383381
That one. Mitutoyo is a reliable brand that doesn't need recalibration every 6 months. Every single place I've worked at has had them exclusively
>>58383381
Mitutoyo, but the bigger dial gauge version, when I need one. Got a company issued box of Starrett 1-12" mics I use for the stuff that counts though. Calibrated and certified every other year.
the cheapest plastic one they had at my local independent hardware store

I regularly turn parts to .0005" tolerance.

Aren't you special
>>58383577
80k salary for sitting on my ass watching machines run special, yea.
6" mitutoyo dial
Dials >> digital 2bh
I prefer starrett though

you plebs disgust me

>turning at +-.0005
You say that like it's hard. Try doing two opposing face cuts on brass that's .100 thick that's +-.0005 then come talk about it.

>80k salary
No you don't. Not without working 10+ hours a week of overtime.
>>58383611
Not up to me, all gauges have to have an id# in the inspection report.
harbor freight 12 dollar one
it works
>>58383611
No nearly as precise as the other ones ITT.
What you posted is basically paying too much for a ruler.
>>58383611
motherfucker have you actually worked at an actual company
my goddamn rulers and stopwatches are calibrated
>>58383624
Yea, bit of a misstatement, just barely cleared it with a healthy amount of ot this year. Old heads at my place make 100k though.
>>58383624
> opposing face cuts on brass that's .100 thick that's +-.0005
I've done similar. Try cutting a nine inch long bore of duplex stainless with a 32 finish, accounting for tool wear and finish polishing. That was my nightmare yesterday.

mine is just fine. it definitely is not an overpriced ruler.

the mitutoyo on the picture, except it doesn't have the thumbwheel
