The people currently working on windows are hobbling along doing stop gap coding because that's what works and what has been done for the past 2 decades.


Windows really needs to be reworked from the kernel up, but it would require MASSIVE funding, and time, and frankly I don't think Microsoft currently employs enough talented developers to actually do this.

Meanwhile today search just stopped working on my Windows 10 machine. No errors. No hung processes. Nothing in the error log. It just refused to return any results no matter what I typed. Had to kill and restart Cortana before it would work again.
