what does it better than Unity 7? how annoying is it to switch from GTK-applications to QT ones? running Unity 7 on 16.04 and i'm pretty happy with it, kinda hesitating updating.

I have tried it a few weeks ago, it was kinda comfy and really fucking annoying in the same time. But since it's in beta still, it was insanely full of bugs. There was a side menu kind of deal in it what reminded me of deepin. I think I am going to use 7 instead, when it comes out.

It looks beautiful. All they need to do now is get it shipping on mainstream PCs to reach the consumer market.
