Security research (esp. embedded devices) is one of my passions and I feel I've finally conducted research on enough systems to begin composing and releasing some white papers.

Is anyone aware of software which simplifies the creation of these?
I can use Word or whatever with a template if I find there are no other options, but it would be nice if there was software which made formatting and structure for this specific task more easy.

I've heard of it before but I've only heard of people using it to create instruction manuals and user guides etc.
