If you're up close 23" is the choice, otherwise go for 27".

I'm currently using a 27" 1080p screen, and I love leaning back in my chair and watching movies, but when I'm doing typing or reading, when I have to be up closes, it's not super comfortable and I'd rather have something smaller, since that being that close at that size takes like 30%-50% of the screen out of focus.

Using a 24" 1440p... I'm 150% scaled but it's still too small. You should go for 1440p 27" .

First, I don't want a monitor that large to begin with, I'd rather have three 1440p ones than one 1080p or even three. Actually, I'd rather have one 1440p monitor than three 1080p ones.

Second, my phone is 1440p and my monitor is 1080p. Big difference in physical size, but 1440p is much better. Much better.
