MICROPHONE THREAD
Post all things desktop microphones here.
I've got an at2020 that sounds pretty good when I use voice chat in discord/skype/teamspeak etc. But I saw a deal on Amazon for the Fluorean BM-800 for less than $20 so I grabbed it without really looking into the specs. Apparently this thing needs a 48v phantom power supply? Or it needs to be connected to a mixer/soundboard. Can anyone recommend me a good phantom power supply or mixer? And if possible, has anyone here used both of these mics and can tell me which one has better sound quality?
The at2020 is pretty good, but it does have a bit of self noise that I can never seem to get rid of in live use, like when I stream. Anyone know what to do about that?

AT 2020 is better. Any interface you get will have 48v, but for a good interface you'll be playing about $80+

Really? I just hooked up the bm800 to my sound card and it sounds pretty good. But with both mics I get this background noise that I don't know how to get rid of. Listen to this recording and you'll see what I mean.

why's that one so big

It's the same size, the picture is just closer up.

no, there's clearly a scale reference, look closer
the picture clearly indicates the one on the right is around 15 times larger

Just get cheap audio interface. Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 for example
