It's okay, you're just an idiot. Tons of great software is written in Java, and Jetbrains makes by far the best IDEs for Python and Java.
emacs
>>58352356
pycharm
>>58352356
>he doesn't want to use a IDE called "Python charmer" it's literally the best possible name for a IDE ever. You are charming the code.
Anaconda and Jupyter Notebook
>being pretentious about language when you have to """"learn"""" python
I ain't no python guy but JetBrains makes awesome stuff so I would recommend PyCharm even if it comes with Java.

don't listen to the others and just use it for python, small web-dev, *tex and all that crap. It's enough for small projects and learning.

What even is the point of an IDE for python? I've been getting along just fine with text editors for years.

USE THIS!

Jesus christ
Not being elitist or anything but you should just stick to geany, python is a scripting language and you should not dev a big project using python.
Install gentoo, then vim

Visual Studio Code.
I use pycharm, works like a charm

JetBrains make the best IDEs. QtCreator also support Python.

It has a integrated python interpreter
Just use vim or emacs

My farts are a scripting language.

Dubs confirm.
Beginner's always think they are somehow better programmers when they use a huge bloated IDE with graphical sugar.
That's like the freshmen than buy the most expensive powerbook on the market when a 400 dollar machine would totally be enough.

Personally I would reccomend geany. I say this is a full-blown turbo autism emacs fanatic who uses it for fucking everything, and will happily shit out walls of lisp to make it do whatever I want it to.
Emacs is very complex. The keybinds deviate a lot from what people are usually used to (though much less so than vi/m). Most importantly, this complexity will only be an annoyance if you're trying to wrap your head around some OTHER form of voodoo at the same time. Just don't do it. Now is a good time to learn a new language and not a new editor.
Honestly just pick anything easypeasy. Geany was where I started (aside from poking at Eclipse a few years before I ever started actually writing anything decent) and it has cute little features like a terminal emulator, commenting/uncommenting lines and regions, bullshit-free identation shifting, and regular expression search and replacement support (but again, one form of witchcraft at a time, please). Its also really easy to theme if thats your thing.

Sure, Fortran is for scripting only
