Is water cooling worth the maintenance?

>maintenance
I have drained and cleaned my loop once in almost 4 years. Working great, still silent, no component issues.
You're an idiot if '''''''maintenance''''''' is holding you back.
Yes but probably not worth the cost.
An i7 on a good air cooler will be faster than an i5 on a water loop when both options cost the same.
So unless you're already rocking a top of the line consumer i7 (not counting X99 platform chips) it's not financially worth it

not OP but how silent? how are your temps? what sort of hardware are you cooling? full size or mid-size ATX?
genuinely curious. i feel like i get better reviews from /g/tards than i do from youtube or random google shills.

yes, i bought one of the corsair closed loop coolers for my cpu, h110 with 280mm rad.
if it explodes in my case and fries my components, their warranty gives me a free upgrade on my parts
so it's kind of like gambling. kind of.

i've got the same radiator and it's been going strong for years.
sorry to disappoint but your parts will be safe.

Water cooling is a meme that you would have to literally be mentally retarded to fall for.
>>58347766
alright thanks. guess I'll just get an air cooler
Depends on your system. Average babby tier 1151 setups with a single GPU are a waste, but if you're on an enthusiast platform with multiple GPUs it's really a no-brainer to get the most out of your hardware.

If you have fun building stuff then yes 100%
if you just want to build it/plug it in and never think of it again? then no... you should consider getting a console
>>58348034
no im definitely not into consoles and never have been. I was just wondering if it is worth the investment and time nowadays because it used to be very cost intensive a few years back. I know i might not have used enough words in my 1st post as I was only asking about maintenance, but thanks for the info.
