I've only ever had one (other than OEM cases before I learned how to build) because the ATX standard refuses to die so everything still fits

I might get a new case soon though simply because USB2.0 front panel is silly in 2017, especially when I'm switching stuff over to USB-C.

Nice case, but overkill for most people IMO. Even with an ATX board and multiple SSDs the case is pretty much empty.

My next build will most likely be mATX smaller. They can still fit one or more big GPUs and multiple SSDs.

The 1st version G4 case. The Quicksilver is a really close second though. Despite the drawbacks of it (M-ATX mobo is the biggest you can fit IIRC) i plan on case modding mine the best i can when it dies. That will be a long time off though because its seemingly fucking invincible.

I really like what I have now. The NZXT S340, full black, as in pic. It has lots space, good cooling, is simple in it's design and don't look "gamey" with lots of useless details, shapes and gimmicks... I put some BeQuiet! fans in it, and it's very, very silent. It has plenty of room for cable management, the PSU is hidden under the hood, it has no silly led lights... For my taste, it's the very best. And it's actually not expensive,because the design is so simple.

I have had a Thermaltake armor 30 in the past (shit fucking sucks hairy balls), a coolermaster K280 (decent, cheap, but fugly) and a Sharkoon T28 (not bad, but the S340 is better in every way).

For my next build I am thinking of getting a wall mounted case, like the Thermaltake P3 or P5, but I'm not sure... It's cool to look at, but I'm not sure how viable and practical those are.

I used to have an 800D. The airflow was amazing and with a bit of work it was almost silent.

However the space for cables on the side behind the motherboard tray was fucking terrible. I'm pretty sure it was less than an inch and made it difficult to cable manage with a shit load of hard drives.

Eventually it got too big anyway and I ended up splitting it down. I now have my gaming rig in a Corsair 100R and am currently building a custom case for a HTPC.

What about the suppressor f51? It's pretty much an upgrade of the define r5/s

The front. This case was pretty much designed for front mounting a 240mm rad. Supported by the fact that there's no included intake fans.

I usually buy a single extra case fan, take the two that came with it, put those in front to be matchy, and put the aftermarket fan in the rear exhaust. Works well.

I personally like the older mac pro's design externally (pic related) as well as internally (>>58342153) more, but when you see the new ones in person and try them out at an Apple store, they're really nice. It does tend to get hot though, that's why I prefer the old Mac Pro design.
Plus you can jew yourself past Apple and Hackintosh these things to Sierra, which is kind of funny considering a trusted reseller near me charges about €349 for the 8GB RAM and 512mb shared video memory (both replacable), which is basically a ~2012-ish iMac.

I would say they're overpriced but I have never dealt with one in person. ATX isn't going anywhere so you might as well get it since you'll be staring at it for years.

USB 3 Type-C wire specification is 2 meters for gen. 1 and 1 meter for gen. 2 (any longer, and possible slower transmission speeds / loss due to noise).

So you might be better off leaving the Type-C at the back panel rather than running a wire from the mobo headers to the front panel--unless you can manage it with a really short compatible connector.

I remember thinking that case was so cool when it came out.

That and pic related. The computer lab for programming, web development, and graphic design at my high school had these with really high end intel chips (can't remember if they were c2q extremes or first gen i7's) and a dedicated GPU I unfortunately couldn't identify paired with 27" IPS monitors.
The cases are surprisingly sturdy feeling. The layout inside is kind of retarded but I've always liked the way they looked

Yeah as I recall the panel material was quite thick, and the case was enormous.
I was very tempted to buy one from ebay a few years ago but the internal layout is really inefficient and would require a lot of modification to make a decent build in it. That and I'm more interested in the slim mitx meme.
