Can any kind /g/entoomen help me out?
I have a late 2006 model imac. The previous owner removed the hard drive and sata data cable. When he did that he also pulled off the black plastic piece that attaches to the prongs on the logic board. The bottom piece that's circled in >pic related
The prongs are still in tact (pic to follow). My question is, what's the best way to try to repair this. I have a 3d printer on the way, maybe try to print a new piece?
I have no idea how I would find a replacement one of these other than buying a whole new logic board that might have it still attached.
Could I simply strip the end of the sata cable and solder the ends direct?

This has almost nothing to do with the fact that it's an apple product. I need help with a sata connector

Don't deny my trips. Just help
Post the second pic, then 3d print a gun and swallow a bullet with it.
Won't let me upload but look at the 6th picture in the ad. It's the prongs near the bottom left by the heat sink

Lemme get this straight. You ripped out the onboard sata connector, and you're selling the damaged board on ebay without letting the buyer know it's been fucked up?

Thats not my ad. That's just a picture of one I found that clearly shows the prongs. If you look at the first picture you can see someone is removing the connector properly by using something to hold down the bottom piece. Apparently it's a common issue to accidentally pull off the whole piece.
