are there any good mp3 players that cost less than $20? I don't need a screen just a player that has a shuffle feature.
>>
Is there any reason that you wish to use something other than your phone to play mp3's on the go? I don't intend to try and belittle you, I'm just curious.
>>
>>58340292
Not them but I have an ipod shuffle for working out. My phone (6s plus) is too big and could get damaged.
>>
Ruizu X02 flashed with AGPtek A02 firmware.

Head over to /csg/ and ask for more details.

I'm not memeing you.
>>
Just use your phone
>>
Jesus christ man, just use your fucking phone. I work out at my gym with a pair of Q12 soundpeats and they last me 3-4 days before I need to recharge them.

Not OP, but my phone has a non-removable battery, so once it's dead it's dead until I charge it next. Why waste my battery on playing music when I can have a dedicated player that I leave in my car that lasts days at a time? The whole setup cost me (at the time) $40 (got the player for $10, and 64gb SD card for $30)

SanDisk Sansa Clip master race here
>>
Dunno but there are smartphones for $20.
>>
>>58340406
Because modern phones have hardware MP3 playback.

Most Android phones with 3,000 mAh batteries will last you for days and over 24 hours with bluetooth headphones. Battery life isn't really a problem especially since you charge your phone every 1-2 days.
>>
Amazon has a shitload of MP3 players for under $20. Very few of them have no screen.

This looks good; there's a black version for $25.

I use my phone constantly, it has a 3220 mAh battery, and it most certainly doesn't last over a day. It lasts around 8 hours of actual use, about 12 intermittent passive/active use. Have to charge my phone every night.
Also, not all my music is in MP3, I have some FLAC and WAV stuff that my phone simply won't play. Good on you if you use your phone as an MP3, but it's wildly impractical for me, and honestly having the player separate is great for when you don't wanna be constantly fucking with your phone
>>
If you're willing to spend $30 then you can get a SanDisk Clip Jam.

Hey, not our fault you bought a fisher price phone. My V20 handles opus, wav, flac, ape, and other audio filea just fine. Also I never even touch my phone when I listen to music over my bluetooth earbuds. I can pause/play, increase/decrease volume, go to the next/previous track, and a bunch of other shit straight from the buttons on my bluetooth earbuds.
>>
>>58340556
Not him, but essentially any player plays those formats. If yours doesn't, you won't have anything to lose by switching to a better one

I used to listen to music with a Sansa Clip+ because my previous phone had a shit 2600 mah battery and all music player apps were worse in every way to a Clip+ from 2009.

However i got a RN3P with a 4000mAh battery that gets me around 10-12h SoT and discovered Neutron Player which is the only player with the same features as the rockboxed Clip+, even now.

ruizu x02 + sd card of your choice

I use my phone for music mostly.
Still bought a £74 MP3 player with two microsd slots though. I listen to music a lot and it does drain my battery.
Plus you cant really take a phone with you if you are doing something physical like gym. (Especially if its an expensive one like a HTC 10. You got to look after that thing like its your first child)

Its also nice to be able to have more space for music. You'd be suprised how stale even 128gb of music gets.
(But I can't bear to cycle out my favorite songs. Even after trimming out the not so good songs I'd still have a core 80gb of music I like)

Music streaming is very dependant on 4G coverage (and public wifi hotspots not being garbage). In my town its kind of shit outside of the town centre. (Radio is even worse, surrounded by 4 or 5 DAB broadcasters yet still in a signal blackspot. Literally can only get two FM stations. In 2016.)

So, best solution, get a 200gb microSD, then get another one for it when the 200gb microsd is on sale again.
400gb MP3 player. (Well, more like 380gb but its still a lot)
Should be enough for core music and plenty of new songs to try out.

I'd still eventually fill 400gb but cycling 50gb of it or so would be pretty easy to do.
>>
Never use a cellphone for music. Fuck touchscreens, I want buttons.
>>
>>58342715
This too.
Its a pain to have to get the phone out, turn the screen on, unlock the phone, change the track or album or artist, then turn the screen back off.
Or if you listen to music put the phone in the pocket and have it randomly change tracks. (Even locked it can do this if you have the lockscreen player on).
Or get it out of a pocket when you're wearing a coat in the rain, fiddling about with gloves on trying to unlock it.

Physical buttons are great.
Having a little screen on your earphones would be ideal like the old walkmans had.
Using a smartwatch is ok, but has its own issues.
>>
>>58342879
This can be solved by using those earphones with three buttons like the Piston 3.

Buttons are easily remappable with Xposed so you can use them for managing your player or open apps, etc. You could even take pictures with the flash turned off if you want to be a creep.
>>
>>58343041
This is honestly a great idea I never would have thought of. Will try.
>>
>>58343252
You have 6 inputs (one for each button and another one for holding each button).

I think you can even get more inputs by making combinations but i haven't tried.
