Why cant I edit the wifi channel this shit is annoying as hell.
I would guess that the hardware doesn't support any other settings so there's nothing to change.

damn, then what should I do about my wifi, I really think has to do with the channel.
>>58331114
Are you sure you can't edit the channel settings somewhere else? It's been over a year since I had Comcast so I don't remember where all the settings are.
My current (TWC/Charter) router's channel settings are separate from the security mode setting.

I dont know, I went through all my settings and nothing really looked like I could edit the channel.

Is your current setup port forwarded?
>>58331053
If its anything like my isp, they have it locked down.
I dont even have permission to set or change my wifi password, change the name, or the ability to do half the shit I should, with the standard router login anyway.. that doesnt mean that _I_ dont have the ability to change that stuff.
your ISP's custom firmware doesnt allow this because of assholes like this
>he uses comcast moden as router
Your fault
>>58331053
You shouldn't. Idiots aren't allowed to set the channel to something that fucks shit up for everyone.
>>58331082
No way that the wifi chip is not capable doing this.
>>58333965
Why would anyone do that?
>>58333965
Umm, they could restrict it to those three channels though.

My ISP's wifi router didn't let me set a DNS server from my internal network (home server). Turned out it was only enforced in client side JS, so it was easy to bypass.
Enable the edit button and see if it works.
