Great mobo really. No cons for me.
Bios inferace is great, good overclocking properties, it has 2 bioses switchable with a hardware switch.
I was able to do 4,7Ghz at 1.222v 46x cache on 4790k.
I would buy it again.

>No exhaust other than the rad? I guess it should be fine with a single card though.

I have since adjusted it to three rather than four intakes, so the two rad exhausts should be fine. I wanted to maintain possitive pressure inside the build.

>>
I'm doing an aesthetics rebuild. Have had my case for ever, motherboard is matx in full tower, no lights, old fans.

I like the work station aesthetic that some of the pre-builts give off. Can anyone suggest a case similar? Mid tower at most, micro atx mini towers cool too.

I'm torn because I do want a side window but it will conflict with the work station goal.

>DDR4 and DDR3 don't make a difference at the same speed.
Yeah, I know. Not like there's a huge difference at higher speed either.

>but I think Sapphire is best
Everyone keeps saying that, but all my personal experience with them hasn't been too great. 4 out of 5 Sapphire cards I have personal experience with developed a rattling fan within 2 years, one even got so bad the fan basically stopped working. 3 cards were Tri-X 290Xs and one was a 7970 Dual-X. The only one that didn't fuck up was a Dual-X 7850. All were used in decent cases with dust filters and never came even close to getting clogged up or something.
>>
>>58349130
I had the Gigabyte 780Ti and it was annoying, loud and hot. My friends TriX 290 is much quieter and only runs at 70° in a shitty case without airflow.

I don't know many other brands for AMD, but XFX is bottom tier from what I heard. ASUS is overpriced. The MSI models may be good too.
>>
>>58349182
I had a Gigabyte 7970 which I didn't like because it was voltage locked on the newer revision I got, but the fans on the thing are still flawless, I gave it to a friend and he's using it to this day. The noise or the cooling performance on the Sapphire cards wasn't the issue (though OC'd air-cooled 290X CF was a challenge), the fans were unreliable as fuck though. Even RMA'd the 7970 Dual-X, I got it back and they said they "cleaned" it. It was OK-ish for like 1-2 months and then the same fan fucked up again.

Tri or Vapor X? The newer fans have improved.

And yes, these cards are heat monsters, but they are cheap as fuck nowadays and are still very powerful. The only difference between a R9 290X and a 1060 is their consumption and a bit more VRAM.

>tfw team red now

Honestly, the card's a lot prettier than i expected. Shame about that nasty red logo, i might have to mod it, my define r5 doesn't have a side panel so its not really important.

Working on creating a benchmarking suite comparing the 980 ti against the R9 Fury X with the new relive driver that was released 3 weeks ago. So far, they're so neck and neck, it's hard to call it.

>Why'd you get a Fury X if you already had a 980 Ti

It was 300 bucks, and I can sell the 980 ti for 400, and because of #finewinetechnology

Given previous examples of AMD's finewine tech, I'm guessing the Fury X will eventually eclipse the 980 ti and even rival the 1080.

Also, holy fuck is it quiet and cool. new ultra silent build is barely audible and the whole damn thing rarely gets over 50c, cpu and gpu both. Which I seriously like.

What I'm getting at is more about performance, those 3-way bridges only connect a single link between each pair of cards, so using one for 2-way is like having a single, old hard bridge between them, I'm pretty sure. At high resolution that can completely cripple Pascal SLI, I've tried using a single old bridge at 4K and some games like Witcher 3 didn't scale at all. Using a newer LED bridge, 2 old bridges or a proper HB bridge fixes the issue.

Still better than an ATX case, with an ATX board, that's half empty i.e. no expansion slots are used beyond mITX...

it's "better" to not have room to expand without buying a whole new motherboard just because you currently don't need ATX doesn't mean you wont need it in a year or two.

It's not "better" you're just autistic and put value and meaning into something that doesn't matter.

I'd rather look at empty parts than unused parts. The first is a waste of space, the second is a waste of potential.

>autism
this fucking keyword needs to die like the banana meme

Wew fucking lad, you're actually mentally ill.

Better fucking get mATX and if I need to upgrade to a RAID card for 10GbE NIC, I now no longer just need an add on card, I need to buy a whole new motherboard because in my INFINITE wisdom decided getting a motherboard with the capability for expansion later was wasting potential.

Far better to waste twice as much money buying two motherboards for the same build instead of buying the better larger motherboard first and just using it for 3+ years.

Like I said, Autism
