>Industrial strategy paper demands regulation of unseen and automated bits of digital economy whose outcomes have real impact on people and society

this is what happens when you have complete fucking mongos in charge of a country. They hear a word and think they know what it means.

>inb4 obfuscation
>>
Another day another amazingly stupid tech policy pushed by the retards across the pond.
>>
Isn't this a problem possible to solbe with Free Softwareâ„¢?
>>
>>58317364
Free software doesn't really solve anything.
>>
>>58317387
I'd like to interject for a moment, it does.
>>
>>58316878
Such horseshit as usual from our gov. This pretty much reads as wanting the influential companies to control information and opinions on the internet. Just more and more censorship.
>>
Is accountability not a thing over there or something?
>>
>>58317491

That's all problem all over the West. That's what you get for not making your countries technocracies. Even if there was accountability, it wouldn't help: nobody up there even knows what an algorithm is. Your judges grant retarded tech patents.

You need fewer lawyers and more scientists in government, that's the harsh truth.

Fewer political appointments based on ideology and more based on competence and qualifications.
>>
>>58317540

Eh just seems like another blindingly stupid policy coming from that side of the world desu senpai.
>>
>>58317540
How can you have a technocracy and not result in communism with big powerful central governments?
>>
>>58317590
Communism isn't the work of technocrats, it's the work of bureaucrats. You seem confused.

>result in communism with big powerful central government
You say that as if it would be a bad thing...

Makes sense. Google is the backbone, brain and the billions of nerves in the modern web. They alone through their search results are capable of influencing more people on this planet than anything else - not through providing answers to political, social and economic questions, but by selecting sources, curating references and deciding what is and what is not the best result. It is important the elements that provide the result are transparent and uninfluenced by Google's own circumstances (i.e. by the fact Google work closely with the US Government).

Of course - there's no policy that can fix this. Not while Google's entire business model depends on individuals and businesses manipulating their position within Google's own results. Even if there was, an industrial paper written by a shadow minister three years before a general election that is expected to result in the demolition of his/her own party isn't where it would be done.

commies continue to say things without actually meaning anything.

>everybody I don't like is a commie
Pls stop with the ideologically-loaded political buzzwording. Go to /pol/ if you wanna do that. Use rational arguments here, not debate techniques to convince people politically like /pol/ does.

>ideologically-loaded political buzzwording.
oh look, a mad commie!!!!
also the labour party is a communist party.
>>
>>58318340
>also the labour party is a communist party
Of course, and nazism is left-wing.

Read a book anytime.

How anyone could hate Americans more than British is beyond me. UK is easily 20 years ahead in the authoritarian fascist government model.
>>
>>58317590
Norway is to a large degree a technocracy. Large government, yes... But it works
>>
Hey brainlets, this is the equivalent of "democrats want to make all boys take hrt from age 6"
How likely do you think it is that law would pass?
>>
Labour can call for whatever the fuck it wants, it isn't getting back into government any time soon.
