I've got a folder filled with hundreds of webms from /gif/.

Is there a quick way to separate the ones with audio and those without, or will I need to look at each one individually to separate them?
>>

>>
>>58314592
If you're still on windows, you can do this:

for /r %i in (*.webm) do ffmpeg -i "%~i" -vn -acodec copy "%~ni.ogg"

It will split the audio from the video and let you visually separate them.

If you want to put them all into a new folder you can do this next:

for /r %i in (*.ogg) do copy "%~ni.webm" "folder\%~ni.webm"
>>
>>58314663
Make a script that will go though files in the directory and use ffprobe on each to get media information about them. Parse ffprobe output (with grep or something else) to find whether file has audio or not and according with a result move the file into one of the desired directories.

Adblock. Hostfile can't block specific files.
If there is only one ad hosted on the whole domain you will have to block the whole domain with hostfile. Adblock can target it.

By not using the website.

It's just an overlay. You can disable it through inspect element or get an extension called fuck overlays or something like that.

Or just disable JavaScript, but it's such shit that most websites don't work at all without it.

Set the second router to only act as a switch, easiest way is turn off DHCP and don't plug anything into the WAN port. Then you don't have to look at it for anything, all the routing is handled by your main router.

need some help, first time building a pc. i have:

i5-2320 @3.0ghz
8gb ram
120gb ssd

how would i find the proper cables to connect the video card to the psu? i see an 8pin and 6 pin on the video card. i have a 6pin cable already, i need to find an 8pin.

what is this peripheral called? pci 8pin? can someone help me find some on canadian sites preferably from newegg.ca, amazon.ca, or tigerdirect.ca

Well then you should have checked that it had the cables it was supposed to have
This will probably work but the 850 isn't listed so you should email corsair to make sure

Modular PSU cables don't have any official standards so they shouldn't be used with cables not designed for that specific model

Sorry, after reading this I realized how many crucial information missing.

I'm looking for a printer for home usage with users using different OS.
It's prefered to be Inkjet, All in one printer but other suggestions are welcomed.

The most important thing is the compatibility between the different OS first and then printing speed.

Currently the the printer I use lack some features under linux while under windows it runs flawlessly, even though open printing claim it to be fully functioning under linux.

A printer that supports mdns - all those OS' can print to mdns printers.

I'm assisting a couple of 50 yo people to buy their next family computer.
I can do with the hardware but I haven't used Microsoft product (it was vista by then) at home since I moved out from my parents.

They are by no mean tech literate and I assume they will click on every fake ads on the internet (like "you computer has a virus. Click here to remove it :^) ").

What's the antivirus to recommend?

It was avast by then. Is it still relevant?

Should they stick with windows 10 default?
(I know, I feel guilty for letting them use the botnet but I won't get them to use gentoo and start recommending them CFLAGS, push the vimtutor through their throat and get them hyped on encryption)

Should I have them buy a license for Norton or something?

Relying on commonsense 2017® is not an option.

I have very good experience with with that.
But it's support for GNU/Linux is inconsistence.
At least for older models, One printer can't scan images, and there's only one setting for printing quality "High DPI" that used ink like water.
How's the newer models support with hplip? Does the WiFi printers require no drivers?

My computer hasn't had any changes, and is still working, so I assume I'm clear on software/hardware. Checked out the router, it should be good as well. I think he was asleep as the time, so it should only be hardware on his end, although I'll double check tomorrow. What hardware stuff could it be? Or could it be something fucky software-wise? If it makes contact and shorts something you could fry any number of things
>>
>>58318204
So it's shorting then? Not acting like a capacitor or something else that draws charge from the psu that then suddenly disconnects and leaves the board overloaded, possibly breaking the psu?

What would be the criteria for a short? Touching two back pins to the same chip? Or touching a capacitor or something somewhere inbetween the and in on the boss and an out on the boss?

I don't know why I'm so interested in this right now. It's like 6 am.

>>58318338

Also if the HDD is partitioned will it look up at the boot flag of each partition?
>>
>>58318264
A sheet of foil is not really going to hold a charge like a capacitor
A short circuit would just be connecting two points which should not be connected. This could mean discharging a capacitor into your CPU which would be bad. There are any number of ways that making the wrong connection could fuck something up.
>>
>>58318371
qemu is not a command.
kvm boots the HDD exactly as your PC would, so it will start by the MBR.
If you want to bypass that try booting from the partition.
>>
>>58318395
So qemu is the program that will install kvm?
Sorry, I'm new to virtualization.
Will this effect the HDD in any way?

>>

>>
>>58318423
Yes, it's the bundle, you can start a qemu-system-(architecture), but i noticed that kvm has a faster rendering.

No, the HDD won't even notice the difference.

i'd suggest you to cap the memory though, with the -m option at launch (q.ty in megs)

If you think you're not up to the challenge of CLI, then use a frontend like virt-manager.

The laptop is formatted with GPT partition and the Windows usb is formatted with rufus using "GPT scheme for UEFI" but I cant find the usb when entering the one-time boot menu

If I enable the Legacy Option ROMs and try to boot to the usb it says "no bootable device found"
and if I add the usb as a custom boot sequence in UEFI it just brings me to SupportAssist saying "no bootable devices found"

what the fuck do I do?

Try another USB diskette or another port.

depends on your bloat, since it's better to have as much power as possible to get a smooth system.

If your main PC is bloated then use a live usb, if not just run it from your system.

Recently I downloaded a pdf on my android and I think I might have a virus or something. Now whenever I google something I get the "our system thinks that you're a robot, solve this captcha" yada yada. Also, when I try to post here with the quick reply window, I instantly get a connection error but I can post from the reply form on the top of the page just fine. When I posted a thread yesterday I was led to a https version of this site where 4chan thought that I'm a robot too. If I click the report post button I end up at the 4chan thinks that you're a robot, solve captcha page.

Did the pdf infect me or something? How can I fix all this? I'm on holiday so I don't have access to any desktops or laptops. Just my phone.

Which of these two sets of signal info from my modem is better?

Backstory: I want to move my modem to a more convenient location in my house. The cable coaxial I want to use hasn't been used in almost 15 years, and I want to make sure the outlet and the wiring in the wall are still solid. I'm comparing my router's signal info from it's current cable/coaxial wall outlet vs the cable/coaxial outlet when in the more convenient location. (I plugged the modem into the other outlet just for a few minutes to get these numbers)

Okay so, every once in a while while my PC is on, every fullscreen-application immediately minimizes itself and I'm back at the desktop or w/e is undernath right after the programm is started.

I don't know if it's one specific programm causing this, or a number of programms, I can't track it down.

All I know is, the risk of this happening increases the longer the PC is on (multiple days), and it gets fixed if the PC is rebooted.

It doesn't matter whether it just merges the two signals into one or has a switch that toggles between them (preferably with a mode that plays both out of different ears too), as long as it doesn't noticeably affect sound quality.

So if you download vs express or vs student what ever it's called, you start a new project, set it to a windows portable theme from the left hand side and just use the gui designer to make a set of blocks near the bottom and then fill in the rest using objects draws and mouseListeners. Or menu listeners. But I think it's mouse because the hud doesn't seem to have clickables, only the glowing text seems to fit that model.

i can gain access to a good quantity of small spent lithium batteries for free.

oh ok I see it now. I didn't look closely.

The pic is just a borderless image viewer. You make a program that opens and image and set the Frame attributes to disable decoration. The "about windows" is just there as proof. Those high contrast icons look like downscaled Jeff Soto illustrations. ( I used to do lots of vector art, I also used to work for a magazine that dealt with his kind of artist ), the music player, status bar, search bar, and the rest look like they were widgets set to execute upon click, the menu looks just like I explained before and the background is probably frooommmm....idkmybffjill?

OpenSSH or PuTTY?

I just want to ssh into my Win10 ChinkPad and remotely control it and remotely do stuff on and to and from it from my Chome OS ChromeBook.

Also. I'm an inexperienced newbie and novice to SSH and SSH clients. A newb-friendly and hassle-free SSH client that will allow me to easily setup my own Win10 SSH server with ease and no hassle would be great and nice and also greatly appreciated if someone can recommend me one/something.

What do/would you recommend for me, /sqt/?

Help me out here, lads.

Sometimes this svchost blasts my CPU and I have no idea why. Malwarebytes doesn't detect anything and while svchost is like this my computer can't connect to the internet, programs just don't work and I can't open new programs, including Task Manager.

It's really bizarre, anyone know why this might be happening? It only happens after I have been running some intensive programs such as videogames/voice chat/music player/chrome at the same time after a while of doing this I notice my PC just chunks and slows way down, only fixable by restarting.
>>
>>58316163
If it can support a 1060 now it should be able to support a 1070. Though you might want to get a more powerful cpu/mobo as well if you want to be playing AAA games for longer without upgrading every other or third year.

I mean, everything does. IPS monitors not substantially more or less. They don't wear out as fast as OLEDs if that's what you mean.

I'm trying to configure my work PC to accept a remote desktop connection. The setup is cable modem -> router -> switch -> PC. On the router, I've forwarded port 3389 TCP/UDP to the IP address address of the PC, and I can't make a connection. Does the switch get in the way of that? Anything else I might be forgetting?

I unearthed an old celeron laptop
I put a new hard drive in and installed windows 10 because I had a usb on hand

Is Windows 10 too much for an old 1GB ram laptop though? would it perform better if I installed XP or win7? Stock OS was Vista

thanks but not 980, it costs >500€ on amazon. it's more than the rest of my computer, which is more than decent already.
what is a cheaper alternative to it?

Get a 1050

Don't buy ouddated consumer electronics

Windows 7 starter or bloat it with ultimate.
Dualboot Linux on it, something lightweight.
Which celeron?

Just buy a cheap 4GB DDR3 SO-DIMM.

how about a 1060? it costs about the same price as my 660 back then and that's right in my price range. is it better?
and what is the difference between normal cards and TI cards?
>>
>>58327294
I'd pull that new hard drive and use it for something else. Put in an SSD instead. 1gb ram is pretty limiting. People often step down to 32 bit windows for that. I'd seriously consider linux in your case. Most people just want their pc to be a browser anyway
>>
>>58327339
They are more powerful than their non Ti counterparts.

1060 is more powerful than GTX 1050Ti, its really good.

GTX 1050Ti is just the modern version of GTX 750Ti which got replaced a long time ago.

Ti is more powerful. The significance differs between cards

Yes get the 1060 if you wanna get something in that price range

I right-clicked a .jpg image to convert it to .pdf and clicked "Convert" in the context menu. A message box came up telling me that "An install-on-demand tool (Pixillion) is required for this operation. Blablabla unimportant stuff". I installed this, and the program worked. The only problem is, the icons for .PDF files are fucked now. It used to be a Chrome-icon, but now it's pic related. When I change the default program, the icon changes just fine. But when it's back to Chrome, the icon is this fucking thing again. What do? I want the Chrome icon back. I tried uninstalling Pixillion but it's still there.

So I've got this weird problem. I got a new wireless PCI-E adapter for my desktop a month ago, and I noticed recently that the connection was sort of spotty. Running a ping test to my router, I noticed that the ping was spiking about every 10 seconds, a problem that I wasn't able to replicate on my laptop.

I assumed it was a hardware issue, and bought a cheap Belkin USB wifi adapter to see if the problem was solved. Lo and behold, my connection got even WORSE with this shitty adapter, and I was still being disconnected every few seconds. I was about to dismiss it as bad luck with hardware until I booted into safe mode with networking, ran the same tests and found that the problem basically disappeared.

So now I'm certain that there's some sort of software issue that's causing my regular disconnects/ping spikes. How can I find the service or process that's causing this problem, or otherwise diagnose this issue?

Alright, got pulled over in Jew York for allegedly doing 14mph over the limit. I asked the cop if he shot me with LIDAR and he said he used radar, a Kustom Signals gun to be exact. However my radar detector, a 9500ix never alerted to him and it usually doesn't have issues with K or Ka band. I think he's either bullshiting me or shooting instant-on way off axis which would mean his readings would be unreliable. He said my RD must not be working.

How do I fight this? It's ultimately my word versus his. I can prove my RD is working since I have my own vintage Kustom Signals K-band gun and I can test and document the detector picking up the signal but that probably won't be enough.
>>
>>58328857
Well it looks like your card originally came with an adapter. Also if you don't need sound then that dvi adapter you just bought should work fine. If you need to buy something for your HDMI, make sure it's mini hdmi, not micro
