Why are all new ports and technologys made into a confusing mess these days.
USB 3.0, 3.1, 3.1 gen 1 and 3.1 gen 2. Then you can get usb type c ports which only transfer at usb 2.0 speeds.
Also dont forget there are uncertified usb chargers and cables out everywhere even from official manufacturers.
4K and tvs is just a mess as well. you have tvs and connected devices which dont have hdmi 2.0. or you only have 1 port on the tv that supports it. Now you add hdr and you have to fuck around with settings on the tv and make sure again you have ports and cables which support it.
I feel like its just a thing they are doing to get people to constantly buy new stuff. It used to be quite simple with usb 2.0 and
Most of those things can be explained by because its cheaper to only have 1 HDMI 2.0 port or USB 2.0 speed or some shit but USB 3.1 Gen 1 and gen 2 are really fucking retarded. When they made USB 3.1 they retroactively renamed USB 3.0 to USB 3.1 gen 1 and the new thing USB 3.1 gen 2. Why the fuck would you rename something that already existed for no reason?

It takes a bunch of retards to go "maybe if we do it all like this it will be easier" for any universal shit. It took what felt like fucking forever for all phone manufacturers to switch to usb instead of each separate phone having its own cord. Minus apple.

Id really like to know the difference in price for these components. I cant see it being that much of a difference especially on expensive mid to high end items.

Only poverty 4K TVs only have 1 HDMI port, if it saves them $5 to put on 1 2.0 and 3 1.4 HDMI ports instead of 4 2.0 HDMI ports they probably would do it.
USB C is just a connector, ideally it is USB 3.1 but retards like yourself buy USB C peripherals that run at USB 2.0 like fucking smartphones because you're a consumer
